Stoney — the East Coast strain hunter behind the Sour Diesel male that runs through so much of what we do here — was a sativa man first and foremost. When he wasn’t chasing gas, he was chasing the sky. Purple Haze. Chocolope. Purple Haze traces back to the early Haze work in Santa Cruz in the 1970s — Colombian, Thai, and Indian landrace sativas bred over generations into something that smells like a record store in 1976 and gets you so high you forget what you were doing in the best possible way.
